The idea for this show was to build a triangle with the Gemäldegalerie, my apartment and Fächer as its edges.
I made a dark room out of my bathroom. The door has a window and the stretcher bars are the exact dimensions needed to cover it. Inside, to stop the light leaks, I lined the painting with tin foil from the kitchen.
The photos are taken in my apartment and in the Gemäldegalerie. I rushed from the museum into the darkroom with the camera in my pocket. It felt good to watch how the exposed negative materializes on this little paper; how the drops of oil drag the pigment into the silk; how everything pulls and grinds within this triangle for a moment.
The materials are acrylic, scented wax, silk, lacquer, polyester, oil, pigment, cotton and a Rubens book.
